[origin: EP1097650A1] The insole (1) has a top layer (2) which is of smaller area than the middle layer with the upturned edges (4). The bottom of the top layer has a corrugated surface fitting onto a matching surface cut out from the top surface of the middle layer. A set of bars (6), forming a diagonal tread pattern, are adhered to the bottom surface of the middle layer. The area of the tread pattern is smaller than that of the upper layer.
