The centrifuge has a substantially closed rotatable drum (12) with outlet (30) for the lighter particles. The running axis (20) of the drum can be shifted by a swivel device (34) when the centrifuge is operated so that the amount of light particles flowing through the outlet can be varied. The running axis can swivel at variable speed on a plane which can be an axial longitudinal sectional plane of a cone.

Eine Vollmantelzentrifuge (10) zum Trennen eines fließfähigen Stoffgemisches in unterschiedlich schwere Phasen hat eine um eine Laufachse (20) drehbare Trommel (12), die im wesentlichen geschlossen ist und einen Ausgang (30) für eine leichte Phase aufweist. Um einen Austritt leichter Phase am Ausgang (30) ohne Übertragungsmechanismen zu der rotierenden Trommel (12) während des Betriebs der Vollmantelzentrifuge (10) regeln zu können, ist eine Schwenkeinrichtung (34) vorgesehen, mittels der die Laufachse (20) der Trommel (12) schwenkbar ist. <IMAGE>
