Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1098155A1] The conveyor (8) has several followers (9) moved mutually spaced out over the grid rack (7) in the conveyor direction and before entering the pick-up area run through a forechamber (30) which is protected from a direct inflow of material and holds a bank of the material bed which is to be cooled. The material which is located in the forechamber is intensively cooled and then surrounds the followers to protect them as they enter into the hot material bed. The height of the forechamber should be sufficient to hold the bank and its length should be shorter than the length of the bank.
