Abstract (en)

[origin: DE19833791A1] The ball has a very slightly tapered blind bore accommodating a cup with a very slightly tapering interior. The very slightly tapering end of a shaft, which fits into the bone, fits into the cup and jams it into the bore in the ball. The cup has a slit in its base. The tool has a pair of handlebars (14) at the top of a shaft (15). A handgrip (2) surrounds the shaft and is keyed to a sleeve (3) by two pins (4). There is a pair of projections (9) at the end of the sleeve which may go through the slits in the bottom of the cup, then may be turned through 90 degrees to engage the bottom of the cup. The sleeve has a female thread (7) engaging a male thread (8) on the shaft so that its end may be extended out of the sleeve when the handgrip is turned relative to the handlebars.
