[origin: DE19823433C1] According to the inventive method for applying thin strips of rubber (36) to a carcass (5) of a tyre, a strip of material is provided with a protective film (12) on its application side. Said protective film is pulled off and the strip is placed on the prepared carcass. The strip is moved by applying a tangential tractive force to the protective film. The protective is not pulled off until just before the point of application, when it is removed by turning on a pulling-off edge (35).
