[origin: WO0070524A1] The invention is a financial information management system that provides substantial improvements in the speed and efficiency of handling information involved in commercial transactions, particularly by individuals trading financial instruments. The financial information management system (10) employs a multi-tier software architecture, with each tier devoted to specific functions. At the back end of the system are a series of data feeds (12), which are connected to sources of financial data. The data feeds are operatively connected to a data tier (14), which includes storage for financial data received from the sources. A number of application servers (16) are operatively connected to the data tier, and can provide content to a number of web servers (18). The system also includes one or more user terminals (20) that are configured to communicate with the web servers.
