The plane consists of a blade (1) and a flap (2) screwed together and forming a cutting edge along one lengthwise side. On the blade side, the plane has a hollow-ground flank next to a first flank with cutting edge and with a face at the overlap of the blade over the flap. That part of the blade formed by the face, cutting edge, first flank and part of the adjoining hollow-ground face of the blade as well as the hollow ground adjoining face of the flap is replaced by a stuck-on strip (9,10) coated with a grindable , wear-resistant layer.

Aufgabe der Erfindung ist es, ein Maschinenmesser, bestehend aus einem Messer und einer Klappe gemäß Oberbegriff des Anspruches 1 zu entwickeln, das verzugsfrei und kostengünstig herstellbar ist. Erfindungsgemäß wird die Aufgabe dadurch gelöst, daß der Teil der Schneide, der durch die Spanfläche (6), Schneidkante (5), Freiflächenfase (4) und durch einen Teil der sich daran anschließenden hohlgeschliffenen Freifläche (3) des Messers (1) sowie durch die Spanflächenfase (7) und durch einen Teil der sich daran anschließenden hohlgeschliffenen Spanfläche (8) der Klappe (2) gebildet wird, durch je eine eingeklebte Leiste (9; 10) kongruent ersetzt ist, die mit einer überschleifbaren, hochverschleißbeständigen Schicht versehen sind. <IMAGE>
