[origin: EP1099521A2] The plane consists of a blade (1) and a flap (2) screwed together and forming a cutting edge along one lengthwise side. On the blade side, the plane has a hollow-ground flank next to a first flank with cutting edge and with a face at the overlap of the blade over the flap. That part of the blade formed by the face, cutting edge, first flank and part of the adjoining hollow-ground face of the blade as well as the hollow ground adjoining face of the flap is replaced by a stuck-on strip (9,10) coated with a grindable , wear-resistant layer.
