Abstract (en)

The sewing machine has a laying surface for the fabric, which holds it stationary and in place by suction, while a sewing head (16) is moved along the stitching line. The fabric laying surface (11) is perforated, for suction at the under side to hold the fabric at its upper side through the perforations (20). The laying surface (11) is a perforated plate. An air-permeable cushion is under the laying surface (11), of an open-cell foam material. The laying surface (11) can also be the upper cover (21) of a cassette unit (23), with an under pressure within its interior. A projector, independently over the sewing machine and unaffected by vibrations, projects a line (26) on to the fabric, to show the seam sewing path line and a further line to show the fabric cutting line. The projector is a laser.

Eine Nähmaschine (10) besitzt eine Vorrichtung, um zumindest einen Stoffzuschnitt in einer vorbestimmten Lage zu halten, und einen längs einer am Stoffzuschnitt auszubildenden Naht verfahrbaren Nähkopf (16). Dabei ist vorgesehen, daß der Stoffzuschnitt mittels Unterdruck in seiner vorbestimmten Lage gehalten ist. Dabei kann eine perforierte Auflagefläche (11) für den Stoffzuschnitt ausgebildet sein, die auf ihrer Unterseite mit dem Unterdruck beaufschlagt ist. Bei der Auflagefläche (11) kann es sich beispielsweise um ein Lochblech (21) handeln.
