Abstract (en)

[origin: DE19834277A1] The invention relates to a femoral neck endoprosthesis for an artificial hip joint, consisting of an adapter (2) for accommodating the joint ball (20), a support ring (3) for guiding the adapter (2) on the proximal side of the femur (1) and a support bearing (5) for guiding the adapter (2) on the lateral side of the femur (1). The aim of the invention is to increase the strength of the bone tissue for a prosthesis. To this end, the prosthesis is configured in such a way that the adapter (2) is provided with a support shoulder (21) and a shaft (22), said shaft penetrating the femur (1) approximately along the extended axis (15) of the femoral neck. The support ring (3) is mounted on the proximal side of the femur (1) only with its support surface (33), and an axial stop (31) for the support shoulder (21) and a bore (32) for the shaft are arranged on the support ring (3) for guiding the adapter (2), said bore being laterally offset in relation to the support surface (33). In addition, the support bearing (5) is only fixed on the lateral side of the femur (1) and the guide bore (52) for the shaft (22) can be aligned with the axis (15) of the adapter (2).
