[origin: DE19834806C1] The invention relates to a plate link chain which is used as a conveyor chain, especially for a bucket elevator or similar conveying means, and which is comprised of at least two parallel strands of individual plates arranged as inner plates and outer plates (11). The individual plates are connected to one another by chain pins (13) which are arranged in a transversal manner with regard to the plane of the plate. At least one additional plate is arranged between two adjacent chain pins (13) on the outer side of the corresponding outer plate (11) of a chain strand. One end of said additional plate (16) is placed on one chain pin (13), and the other end is placed on the adjacent chain pin (13). The inventive plate link chain should make it possible to determine the elongation of the chain. To this end, the invention provides that the additional plate (16) is configured as an inspection plate (16) for showing the occurrence of an elongation of the chain. The inspection plate (16) rests with the recess thereof on the chain pin (13) and pivots out of the plane of the plate in the instance of a corresponding elongation of the chain.
