[origin: WO0008172A1] The present invention relates to amino acid and nucleic acid sequences involved in the fatty acid elongation metabolism of a plant, in particular a maize plant. Methods are disclosed to obtain plants transformed with the nucleic acid sequences of the present invention which exhibit an altered fatty acid metabolism.
