Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0074270A1] According to the inventive method, each address is coded according to a binary arborescent hierarchic structure comprising several fields, i.e. a first field to identify the network and subsequent fields to identify the entities in said network. The inventive method consists in determining (8... 12), inside the aircraft, the address of the communication center (CMA) which is to be contacted from a router identity on the ground and which is received by comparing the received address of the router to the addresses which are contained in a data base in the aircraft, whereby the address which has the largest number of characters in common with the address of the router on the ground is retained, taking into account the arborescent structure of said addresses. The invention can be used in ATN communications.
