Multi-stage process for utilizing halogen-loaded carbon-containing residual and waste materials comprises gasifying in the fly stream with the introduction of a gasifying agent containing free oxygen with the simultaneous recovery of halogen-containing materials at temperatures higher than 1100 degrees C. An Independent claim is also included for an apparatus for carrying out the process comprising two or three reaction chambers (2) arranged behind each other.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Verwertung halogenbelasteter kohlenstoffhaltiger Rest- und Abfallstoffe durch Vergasung im Flugstrom unter Zuführung eines freien Sauerstoff enthaltenden Vergasungsmittels bei gleichzeitiger Gewinnung von halogenhaltigen Wertstoffen bei Temperaturen höher als 1100 °C, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Verfahren mehrstufig durchgeführt wird, und eine Vorrichtung zur Durchführung des Verfahrens. <IMAGE>
