Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1101848A1] Synthetic filament yarn is heated to temperature between 230 and 270 degrees C, cooled and false twisted above the twist saturation level, i.e. with the ratio D/Y greater than 2.2, where D is the surface speed of the friction disks and Y the yarn speed. The yarn leaves the false twister (7) at a speed that is less than 1.4 times the feed speed and is also less than 1000 m/min. Independent claims are also included for a textured yarn with unevenly twisted loops to give sections of variable diameter along its length and for a false twist texturing machine that includes an air intermingling device before the feed roller (2).
