Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1101867A1] The absorbent crepe paper has at least one embossed pattern (14,16) which projects from the paper base (12). It has an initial set of projections (22) in a general stump shape which protrude on one surface (13) in the structure of a decorative design. The paper (10) has a second set of projections, positioned with the first set (22), as a low wall (24) from the paper surface (13), at a lower height than the first set (22) of projections, to give a dimensional view of the total pattern (14,16). The first set of projections (22) form a pattern of closed loops (14,16). Two consecutive sets of projections (22) are linked by the second set (24), as low walls joining them together. The figures form at least a partial arc. The sets of projections (22,24), together, form a variety of concentric closed loops. The paper has a number of layers, developed from a cellulose pulp, where at least one is an embossed and patterned layer (10), or each layer is embossed with a pattern. The relief pattern is on the inside of the outer paper layer. Where the paper is in two layers, the embossed surfaces face each other to be locked by their relief patterns. An Independent claim is included for a paper embossing cylinder with a profiled surface to give the embossed pattern in two sets of different heights.
