[origin: EP1101880A2] The horizontal pipe section (2) on top of the roof being drained extends inwards from the building wall so that the entrance (12) to it is located at a distance from the wall. Water can flow into the entrance from any direction. The entrance to the horizontal pipe section is covered to prevent air from entering once the water has risen to a certain height above the flat surface. The horizontal pipe section is connected to an external down pipe section (4) which fills up once the water on the flat surface has risen to a certain height, and which is specially dimensioned to generate an underpressure.
