Abstract (en)
The display includes two linked hands, each moving over a thirty second display scale. The display for an analogue wrist watch may include a conventional dial for display of the hours and minutes (2), and then within this a further pair of display sections for seconds. The seconds display is divided into two equal halves, with two pointers (7,8) provided to move over the two respective displays. These two pointers are linked to the same watch movement in order to be driven. For example, to display 48 seconds, one pointer (7) is at zero , whilst the other pointer (8) lies at forty-eight within the second display sector. In an alternative arrangement the hours of the day may be displayed in two such sectors, the divisions being into a daytime sector (6 a.m. - 6 p.m.), and a night-time sector (6 p.m. - 6 a.m.).

Le dispositif d'affichage rétrograde comporte pour l'affichage d'une même grandeur, secondes, minutes ou heures, deux graduations 5,6 représentant chacune la moitié des valeurs que peuvent prendre la grandeur affichée. Chacune de ces graduations 5,6 coopère avec une aiguille 7,8 actionnée par un mécanisme entraîné par le mouvement d'horlogerie. <IMAGE>
