[origin: DE19835941A1] The invention relates to a container (1) for medicaments, accommodating individual doses (3) of medicaments or doses of medicaments placed on carrier elements in individual rows or in single rows or several rows in a solid, powdery, pastelike or liquid form, especially tablets, dragees, capsules, ampoules, pastes and the like. The doses (3) of medicaments can be removed individually or several at a time and optionally along with the carrier elements (4) through a dispensing area (6) in the container (1). A code (7) is placed on the doses (3) of the medicaments and/or on the carrier elements (4), and the medicament container (1) is provided with a code reader (8). When the doses (3) of medicaments or carriers (4) are removed, a temporary relative movement occurs between the code reader (8) and the code (7), whereby stored information relating to a specific medicament can be read, displayed and/or evaluated as a pair of values together with the moment of dispensation in addition to being stored for compliance evaluation and/or transferred to other data processing devices.
