Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0075079A1] The invention relates to a method for dispersing insoluble mineral sediments, i.e. clays, in a liquid containing mainly water, and to additives for carrying out the method. The mineral sediment in a pulverised form is homogeneously mixed with a mixture of a crystalline acidifying agent and a substance that releases gas when reacted with the dissolved acidifying agent, and added to the water. The subsequent development of gas bubbles as the acidifying agent reacts with the gas-releasing substance causes the pulverulent mineral sediment to disperse.
