[origin: EP1103186A1] Food casing comprises cellulose with an external water permeable layer and an internal coating comprising a crosslinked polyaminepolyamide-epichlorohydrin resin, a wax and optionally a synthetic polymer. Independent claims are included for: (1) the production of a sausage skin involving applying to the inner surface an aqueous mixture of polyaminepolyamide-epichlorohydrin resin (0.5-10 wt.%), dispersed wax (0.1-4 wt.%) and optionally polyvinylalcohol or vinyl acetate/maleic acid ester copolymer (0.1-4 wt.%); and (2) the obtained sausages.
