[origin: EP1103512A1] The crane boom has a main arm (3) pivoting on a rotary head (1) and an additional arm (7) extending from the main arm and pivoted at its front end. A counter-weight (14) is articulated to the rear of the main arm. The additional arm and counterweight balancer are connected by a pulley system (10,10') at the front end of the main arm and a second pulley system (28,28') at the rear of the main arm. The pulley systems are connected by a cable which is controlled by a hydraulic cylinder.
