[origin: EP1103653A1] The method for producing a rope or a rope element out of individual elements, in particular, strands consisting of a combination of a load-carrying plastic fiber and a surrounding thermoplastic material involves cooling of such individual elements (from their near-plasticization temperature) to a hardening temperature before they leave the stranding machine. Also claimed is a stranding machine for implementation of the proposed method. It is characterized by the presence of a cooling unit located after the heating unit.
