Modern lighting systems need to deal with light failure vigorously and be in the position to snap in a replacement light source almost instantaneously in the event of a light failure, and without restricting the field of illumination. At least two concave mirrors (2,3) need to be used along a common optical axis (4) with a common direction of light exit, and of which at least one needs to be designed as a ring-reflector (3) , and where the concave mirrors on the optical axis have focal points (6,8) which are mutually spaced from one another, in which each lamp (5,7) is arranged as illuminant .

Um eine hohe Ausfallsicherheit bei Leuchten für medizinische Anwendungen, insbesondere Operationsleuchten, zu erzielen, werden zwei elektrische Lampen (5,7) in jeweils einen als Ellipsoid ausgebildeten Hohlspiegel als Teil eines Reflektors (1) eingesetzt, wobei die beiden Hohlspiegel (2,3) Brennpunkte (6,8) aufweisen, die entlang einer optischen Achse (4) zueinander ausgerichtet sind. Der für die Funktion einer Hauptleuchte vorgesehene Hohlspiegel (3) ist als Ringreflektor ausgebildet, während der für die Reserveleuchtenfunktion vorgesehene Hohlspiegel (2) den Reflektor (1) auf der zur Lichtaustrittsrichtung abgewandten Seite abschließt. Somit bleibt bei einem Wechsel vom Hauptleuchten-Betrieb zum Reserveleuchten-Betrieb das beleuchtete Feld (14) in seiner Größe wenigstens näherungsweise erhalten und der Ort ändert sich nicht (X,Y-Richtung). Die Hauptleuchte weist entweder eine Entladungslampe oder eine Halogen-Glühlampe auf, während die Reservelampenfunktion stets von einer Halogen-Glühlampe wahrgenommen wird. <IMAGE>
