[origin: EP1103956A2] The exponential echo (E) and noise (N) reduction system samples the received signal regularly and has a speech pause detector (SPD) to scale down the cancellation constant (a0(k)) used to weight the stored best estimate of noise power spectral density (g(S/N)) during pauses.
