A flat heating bulb has an envelope (ENV) with a base (BOT) and emitting surface (ES). It contains a radiation source (LEM) which may be a flat filament or a number of coplanar filaments. If the filaments are raised to incandescence the envelope may with advantage be filled with an inert gas. The base of the envelope (BOT) is coated with a reflecting layer (REF) which intensifies the emitted radiation

La présente invention concerne une ampoule destinée à émettre un rayonnement au travers d'une surface d'émission (ES) d'une enveloppe (ENV) contenant une source de rayonnement (LEM). Selon l'invention, la surface d'émission (ES) est substantiellement plane, la source de rayonnement définissant une surface plane parallèle à la surface d'émission. Une ampoule conforme à l'invention est capable d'émettre un rayonnement homogène vers une surface plane avec une densité de rayonnement élevée. <IMAGE>
