[origin: DE19837712A1] The invention relates to a vehicle wheel comprising an especially single-piece wheel rim (1) and a tubeless tire which has an run-flat support ring (11) mounted concentrically to the wheel rim on the radially external jacket surface of said wheel rim. On the radially external surface of the run-flat support ring a run-flat support surface is embodied whose external diameter is larger than the maximum wheel rim diameter. The run-flat support ring (11) is mounted in the axial area of attachment of a lateral tire wall to the wheel rim and is notably made of an elastic material in which rigidity supports are embedded.
