[origin: WO0011183A2] In summary of this disclosure, the present invention provides a method of nucleic acid, including DNA, immunization of a host, including humans, against disease caused by infection by a strain of Chlamydia, specifically C. pneumoniae, employing a vector, containing a nucleotide sequence encoding any of the following polypeptides: CPN 100111, CPN 100224, CPN 100230, CPN 100231, CPN 100232, CPN 100235, CPN 100394, CPN 100395 of a strain of Chlamydia pneumoniae and a promoter to effect expression of any of the polypeptides in the host.
