Abstract (en)
[origin: WO0008990A1] A backrest can be mounted onto the platform to support the back of a person when having a shower over the bath or to permit water restraining orthopaedic exercises. The same backrest can be mounted on the bottom side of platform (12) to reduce the length of the bath for young or small people to minimise the chance of drowning or facilitate lying in the bath. A shower leg (42) is attached when the support aid is mounted in a shower which can be pivotably displaced to an inoperative upright position against a side wall of the shower cubicle. A hoist (50) is attached to the support aid for lowering and lifting a person in or out of the water in the bath which can be slideably displaced along a guide rail so as not to obstruct the bath for other people. Common appliances such as a baby bath (90) or a wash board (95) can be adapted to mount onto the platform and holding member (80) provide attaching of medical equipment such as a drip stand or sling arrangement.
