[origin: WO0010740A1] The invention relates to a bench comprising a top (8) which is fixed to an underlying housing (9) at its four corners by a respective angle bracket. The air located above the top and loaded with noxious substances and dust is sucked down through round openings (1) which are formed in said top, by means of a cross current ventilator (4). The air is then guided through an active carbon filter (11) and once cleaned, it is discharged into the room. The active carbon filter (11) can be placed on a drawer (3) and can be replaced. The legs (10) of said bench are four square tubes which are inserted into the housing from below and fixed by an angle bracket placed outside and a threaded screw. Said top exhibits an opening (2) with a shutter below which a rubbish bag can be hung.
