[origin: WO0009834A1] The invention relates to a method and a device for positioning and fixing beams (1), more particularly wood beams, especially for erecting the foundations of a floor using at least one floor dowel (2). Said floor dowel receives a floor dowel insert part (4) in a retaining part, which may be fixed therein and which has retention means (6) on a base plate (5) to fix the position of the beam (1) in relation to the floor dowel insert part (4), wherein the floor dowel insert part (4) is fixed to the supported beam at least in an adhesive manner. After adjusting the desired height of the floor dowel (2) fitted with an insert part (4) and placed in the desired location, the beam (1) is pushed into the desired position in the retaining means (6). The insert part (4) is fixed in the supported beam (1) in a position corresponding to the position fixed by the retaining means (6) and the beam (1) thus positioned is inserted into the retaining segment of the floor dowel (2) along with the floor dowel insert part (4) fixed thereon.
