[origin: DE19927818A1] The conformance to a measuring characteristic curve of a device provided for measuring air mass is altered by pulsations, soiling and poor flow behavior. The measuring behavior of the device (1) is improved by coordinated measures for reducing these disturbance influences by virtue of the fact that the flow cross-section of an inlet channel (13) diminishes inside the inlet channel (13), in a direction of flow (25), up to a diverting channel (15), and a marginal surface (20) of a first partial piece (16) of the diverting channel (15) is slanted. At least one outer surface of a sensor support (9) forms a flush transition with a marginal surface (27) of the inlet channel that is located closer to an outlet channel (19).
