Abstract (en)
The printing device (1) includes a cassette receiving portion (26) for receiving a first case (2) housing a supply of image transfer ribbon (54). A second portion (28) receives a second case (4) housing a supply of tape (12) on which an image is to be printed. The image receiving tape is moved through a printing zone at which a thermal printing mechanism operates to transfer an image onto the tape. The second tape holding case is selectable from a set of cases including at least one containing a supply of direct thermal tape. The case housing direct thermal tape has an extended portion to exclude the possibility of inserting a first case into the first receiving portion. The first receiving portion includes a device, e.g a switch actuatable by insertion of a case, for detecting that a second tape holding case housing direct thermal tape has been inserted.

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf einen Satz von Bandkassetten, umfassend wenigstens zwei Bandkassetten (2a, 2b, 2c) eines ersten Typs mit Bildempfangsband (54) mit jeweils unterschiedlichen Bandparametern und zwei Bandkassetten (4a, 4b) eines zweiten Typs mit Bildübertragungsband (12) mit jeweils unterschiedlichen Bandparametern. Um zu vermeiden, daß Kassetten mit nicht zusammenpassenden Bandparametern zusammen in ein Druckgerät (1) eingesetzt werden, wird vorgeschlagen, daß jede Bandkassette (2a, 2b, 2c) des ersten Typs ein erstes Zusammenwirkungsmittel (54, 62, 64) aufweist, und jede Bandkassette (4a, 4b) des zweiten Typs ein zweites Zusammenwirkungsmittel (50, 58) aufweist, wobei die Zusammenwirkungsmittel nur ein Zusammenwirken ordnungsgemäß ausgewählter Bandkassetten erlauben. Außerdem wird eine Bandkassette (2d) mit Thermo-Direktdruckband vorgeschlagen, die ein unbeabsichtigtes Einsetzen einer Bandkassette (4a, 4b) mit Bildübertragungsband (12) in das Druckgerät (1) verhindert. <IMAGE>
