[origin: DE19957561A1] The lamp has two tungsten electrodes (7a), each of which is mounted on a holder (7b) in an electrode chamber (3) and has a diameter of less than 500 microns. At least one electrode is mounted completely within the electrode chamber, which is in contact with at least one holder at a contact point (8a). The geometry of the electrode and chamber arrangement is defined and at least one holder has a rhenium sleeve. Independent claims are also included for the following: a method of manufacturing a high-pressure gas discharge lamp.
