[origin: WO0102203A1] A movable body roof for automobiles, comprising a roof skin (14) having a cutout (12) which can be covered by means of a movable body roof (16) so that it is flush therewith. The body roof element (16) is guided by means of a carrier frame (26) which is arranged below said cutout (12) and mounted on an auxiliary frame (18) which is secured to the underside of the roof shell (14) and which has a fastening flange (20) facing the edge (10) of the cutout (12) of the roof. The fastening flange (20) is affixed to the edge (10) of the roof cutout (12) in a non-positive fit using an adhesive layer as opposed to a lock-seam and the edge (10) is provided with a protective strip (28) so that the frame can be retrofitted when the roof cutout (12) is produced by means of a laser or water jet cutting device.
