[origin: WO0012822A1] The present invention provides a modular speed bump (10) having interlocking intermediate (12) and (14, 16) end sections (14, 16). Each intermediate section (12) has a chevron shaped male end (18) and an opposing chevron shaped female end (20). The male end (18) of one intermediate section (12) interlocks with the female end of the adjacent section. The chevron shape distributes a force exerted on a section by a passing vehicle to adjacent sections without the use of a structural stiffener.
