Beim Verfahren zum Ein- und Ausspeichern von blattartigen Gegenständen, insbesondere von Banknoten, zwischen wenigstens einem gespannten Speicherband in eine bzw. von einer Speicherspule wird in Zeitbereichen zwischen den Ein- und/oder Ausspeicherzyklen wenigstens ein Bandfestzurrvorgang (F1 - F3) mit einer gegenüber der Grundbandspannung erhöhten Bandfestzurrspannung durchgeführt. Dieser Vorgang dient dazu, das Band im Bandwickel der Speicherspule nachzuziehen, damit die Gegenstände im Bandwickel zur Erhöhung der Speicherspulenkapazität festgezurrt werden, und um vorzugsweise dem Bandwickel eine größere mechanische Stabilität zu geben, damit dieser insbesondere auch bei einem hohen Füllgrad seitlich stabil bleibt. Vorteilhafterweise wird das Bandfestzurren gepulst mit einer Repetitionsfrequenz im Hertz-Bereich mit einem Tastverhältnis von wirkender Spannkraft zu einem Grundnennwert zwischen 0,2 und 2,0, bevorzugt im Bereich von 1,0, durchgeführt. <IMAGE>
