The folding machine has a conveyor (15) for the first part (B) of a signature and a second conveyor (16) alongside this for transporting a second part (A) of the signature. The second conveyor has a first section (20) which transports part A parallel to the direction in which part B is moving. A second section (21) follows this which moves at an angle to the first conveyor (15) and moves part A towards part B, forming a fold. An Independent claim is included for a method of folding signatures using the machine.

Eine Vorrichtung zum Falzen von Signaturen (2) umfasst eine erste Transportvorrichtung (15) zum Transportieren eines ersten Teils (B) einer Signatur (2) in eine erste Richtung (26) und eine neben der ersten Transportvorrichtung (15) angeordnete zweite Transportvorrichtung (16) zum Transportieren eines zweiten Teils (A) der Signatur. Die zweite Transportvorrichtung (16) verläuft bezüglich der ersten Transportvon-ichtung (15) schräg, so dass der zweite Teil der Signatur (A) unter Bildung eines Falzes in Richtung des ersten Teils (B) der Signatur bewegt wird.
