[origin: EP1108846A2] A compact servo drive for rear door flaps of vehicles, e.g. hatchbacks, estate cars, has a servo motor driving a linear drive linked to a geared drive that powers crank arms and curved thrust arms (5) to swing the door (10 about an upper fixed axis (2). The servo motor and gearing are mounted in a compact space inside the vehicle roof and the curved thrust arms do not extend a significant amount into the free space under the door flap.
