[origin: US6532386B2] The present invention relates to an apparatus for transporting a compound through a barrier membrane of a mammal comprising: (a) a vessel having a membrane contacting surface, said surface having a plurality of exposed blades and a channel adjacent to said blades; (b) a reservoir in communication with said channels for storage of said compound; and (c) an electrode in communication with said reservoir, wherein the width of said blades are tapered away from said surface.
