Abstract (en)
The gemstone has a series of cut facets (16, 25, 26, 27) on its crown (10) and base, arranged in a hexagonal pattern about its axis of symmetry, while its shoulder (12) between the crown and base has a lobed edge (20) with a series of alternating rounded projections (21) and recesses (22). The crown has a hexagonal table (16) with at least six contiguous triangular primary facets (25) alternating with six secondary facets (26) which have six shoulder facets (27) adjoining their edges.

La gemme taillée, en particulier le diamant, présente un nombre prédéterminé de facettes taillées dans la couronne (10) et dans la culasse autour d'un axe de symétrie géométrique central. Les facettes (25 à 27) sont disposées autour dudit axe de symétrie suivant un arrangement hexagonal. Cet axe de symétrie géométrique correspond de préférence à un des axes cristallographiques ternaires du diamant. La rondiste (12) séparant la couronne de la culasse possède un contour (20) de forme lobée avec six portions en saillie et six portions en creux arrondies (21, 22). La gemme ainsi taillée permet d'obtenir des effets optiques originaux d'éclat et de dispersion de la lumière. <IMAGE>
