Abstract (en)
The device has a guide wall between which and a sensor device connected to a measurement transducer the items (2) are transported by a circulating conveyor (5). The sensing device has at least two sensors (6,7) arranged adjacent to each other and transverse to the transport direction. The sensors are in the form of sensing arms mounted on a pivot axis (50) parallel to the guide wall. Independent claims are also included for the following: a method of controlling a change of collection container for a sorting system for flat items such as letters, magazines or similar.

Die Vorrichtung dient insbesondere zur Erzeugung von den Raumbedarf der Versandstücke (2) darstellenden signalen. Sie weist eine Führungswand für die Versandstücke und wenigstens zwei Taster (6, 7) auf, die an eine Flachseite der Versandstücke (2) anlegbar sind. Die zwei Taster (6, 7) sind in Transportrichtung (22) gesehen nebeneinander angeordnet, derart, dass bei jedem Versandstück (2) an wenigstens zwei im Abstand zueinander angeordneten Bereichen die Dicke dl, d2 abtastbar ist. Wenigstens einer der Taster (6) ist mittels einer Schieppvorrichtung (12) schleppbar an einer Welle (11) angeordnet. Die Vorrichtung (1) ermöglicht bei unterschiedlichen Versandstücken (2) eine zuverlässigere Vermeidung einer Behalterüberfüllung. <IMAGE>
