[origin: DE19963147C1] Stopper comprises a cylindrical stopper body (10) formed on a base part (12) for receiving a guiding rod and having a nose-like section (14) on its free end. A boundary surface (18) extends between the nose-like section and the base part over the whole cross-section of the stopper body. The nose-like section is made of a refractory material containing less than 10 wt.% carbon and whose carbon content bakes above 900 deg C in a region near the surface. The base part consists of a refractory material having a carbon content of more than 20 wt.%.
