Abstract (en)
The method for folding sheets of paper (2, 3) comprises conveying them along a folding table (12) parallel to a folding gap (14) in its center. An endless belt (30) mounted above the table moves sets of folding blades (20a -20c) down so that they contact the paper along its entire length and press it into the folding gap. Independent claims is included for: (a) a device for folding sheets of paper; and (b) a printing machine incorporating the device.

Eine Vorrichtung zum Falzen von in eine Transportrichtung (13) geführten Materialbogen (2, 3, 4), insbesondere von aus mindestens einer Papierbahn hergestellten Papierbogen oder Signaturen, welche einen einen Spalt (14) aufweisenden Falztisch (12), ein im Wesentlichen endloses, parallel zur Transportrichtung (13) verlaufendes Fördermittel (30) und mindestens ein an dem Fördermittel (30) angeordnetes, eine Falzkante aufweisendes Falzmesser (20), welches in den Spalt (14) hinein bewegt wird, umfasst, zeichnet sich dadurch aus, dass die Falzkante im Wesentlichen parallel zu dem Materialbogen (2, 3, 4) orientiert ist und den Materialbogen (2, 3, 4) im Wesentlichen über die gesamte Länge des Materialbogens kontaktiert. <IMAGE>
