Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1111630A2] The device has a housing (2) in which a low voltage connection (16) and a high voltage connection (8) are integrated, a central coil core (3) non which a primary coil (4) is mounted, a coil bearer (5) enclosing the primary coil and carrying the secondary coil (6) and a magnetic feedback arrangement (14) of high permeability magnetic material with low eddy current losses. The central coil core is made of a ferromagnetic powder compound. Independent claims are also included for the following: a use of the transformer in ignition systems operated with a combination of self-induction and alternating voltage, an ignition unit and a use of the ignition unit in ignition systems operated with a combination of self-induction and alternating voltage.
