Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0037330A1] This invention relates to a device for securing loads to pallets, and in the preferred embodiment, provides a device which can be positioned quickly and easily without bending on the part of the operative using the device. The device of the present invention comprises first and second hooks (12) interconnected by a length of flexible material (13) wherein each hook (12) includes a central portion (14) to which the flexible material (13) is attached. A pair of arms (15, 16) extends from the central portion (14) on opposite sides of the area of attachment to the flexible material (13). Each arm (15, 16) has top and bottom surfaces (19, 20) spaced apart by a distance sufficiently small to allow ready insertion of the arms (15, 16) between the top and bottom members (3, 4) of a pallet (1). Furthermore, said distances are sufficiently large to ensure that when the arms (15, 16) are positioned between said members (3, 4) on opposite sides of a pallet (1), and the flexible material (13) extends between the hooks (12) over the load and applies a tension force to the hooks (12), the arms (15, 16) cannot readily be withdrawn from the space between said pallet members (3, 4).
