[origin: EP1112783A2] To roll a profile, and especially a flanged profile, the universal rolling stand has horizontal rollers (2,3) and vertical rollers (4,5) with vertical roller centers (6,7). At least the horizontal rollers (2,3) can be set by a hydraulic system where the horizontal rollers (2,3) define a horizontal nominal roller gap (h asterisk ) and an additional nominal value (o asterisk ) so that they are symmetrical in relation to the vertical roller centers (6,7), with a vertical adjustment in the same direction and by the same value through the additional nominal value. The additional nominal value (o asterisk ) is set before the profile (1) is rolled, and is varied by a control during rolling as the rolled profile (1) is compared with a nominal profile.
