[origin: EP1112811A2] The band polishing machine has 2 deflection wheels (19,29) for the polishing band (23) attached at the ends of 2 relatively angled fixed arms (11,27) and a further deflection wheel (21) supported by a pivoted arm (13), with a tensioning spring (17) for the polishing band acting on a knee-lever arm (33), so that the force of the spring is reduced as the angular region of the workpiece (25) enclosed by the polishing band is increased.
