[origin: EP1113158A2] The engine includes a separate expansion chamber (3) with a piston (4) driving a drive shaft (32) via a cam transmission, in which the pushing member (30) can be lifted off the cam disk (31). This produces a timing independent of the continuous rotation of the cam disk, allowing for a pause of the expansion chamber piston at TDC.
