[origin: DE19931274A1] The invention relates to a fuel injection valve for internal combustion engines comprising a valve member (1) that can be axially displaced in a guide hole in a valve body (2). Said valve member has a valve sealing surface (3) on the combustion chamber side cooperating with a valve seat (4) formed on the combustion chamber side of the guide hole in order to control the connection between a high pressure channel (6) in the valve body (2) and at least one injection port (5). Said valve member (1) also has a control channel (7) by means of which the high pressure channel (6) can be connected to a relief chamber when the valve member (1) is lifted from the valve seat (4) and is formed by a blind pocket extending from the combustion chamber side of the valve member (1). In order to improve the injection ratio of the fuel injection valve, a choke (8) having a constant throttle cross section is formed on the combustion chamber side of the valve member (1).
